Just wandered into your site. I want to applaud you all for your efforts. Didn't know quite where to post this so I'll do it here.
DH and I are "seniors" and have been living frugal for most of our lives although it might not be apparent on the surface.
For instance, we do own an SUV which on first look would not put us in the frugal/sustainable camp. It is one of the smallest ones (Honda) and over 10 years old with about 60K miles on it, that's about 6K per year and many of those years we were working. It averages about 25 miles/gal. Consumption isn't always miles per gal. but how many miles you routinely drive. We paid cash for it and bought it because it is easy to get in and out of and handy for hauling. We walk and bike as much as possible and use public transportation (bus, train, plane) for travel.
Again I think you have a great group. I'll be checking back in.
We are a group who are reducing our consumption and living lightly on the earth. We hope to share what we learn about permaculture, preserving food, rain harvesting, seed starting (and saving), all while living in an urban environment.
